Some people say
The only way to help humans succeed
Is to push them
Tell them what to do
Keep making sure that they're following through
If they’re dilly dallying reprimand them
If they don't do it well or perfect enough
Tell them
Make sure they color in the line
It's all for their benefit
Otherwise who knows what’ll become of them?
Theyll become unruly undisciplined lazy and entitled
🤷♀️
What if there's a whole different paradigm?
What if if we give humans space
To explore
Discover
Make mistakes
Follow their own soul
Fall down
And get back up
To just be
What if that actually helps humans thrive?
What if we gave space for humans to be….human?
Perhaps humans would soar to greater heights?
They'd find what lights them up
They'd learn important lessons through making their own choices
They'd feel they have agency over their lives
They get to choose where they take it
And that's empowering
That makes you wanna go get em
Because you're writing your own script
Not following something somebody created for you
But we also might need to redefine success
If success means
Producing humans
who wear the same clothes
Talk the same
Act the same
Have the same beliefs thoughts and opinions
The same hopes and dreams
Then perhaps the push model works better
But if we want humans
Who live life fully every day
Who find life to be a wondrous unfolding peace of art
That has many colors and is sometimes happy sometimes sad
Sometimes rainbows
Sometimes thunderstorms
But it's their own
It's how they choose to paint it
Where they choose to focus
When they chose to stop and rest
Then perhaps a better model is
The let humans be model
Who knows?
Brilliant.
