Once again enjoy children sounds in the background. π€·ββοΈππ¦ Apologies for those who find it annoying. Recorded it twice and I wanted to send this out already.
Fall
Fall
Fall
What if we let it all fall
The stuff that no longer serve us
Fall
Fall
The coins in our pockets that weigh us down
The rock laden briefcases on our backs
The heavy metal chains worn as necklaces around our neck
Carried for generations
What if we let it all fall
Unencumbered
Fall into the earth's embrace
Leaves floating over me
Soft scented grass beneath me
Fall.
What if we allowed ourselves to fall
Like leaves in the wind
They don't hold on do they?
Are they afraid?
To be dropped into a giant universe
Swirling with chaos
Away from their home
Away from their roots
Are they afraid?
Do they say hang on lemme try this clinging thing
Let me just try
So I feel safe
I cannot bare to let go
Into free fall
Do they feel so?
Or is there a sense of anticipation
Wondering where they'll land
Which piece of earth will be their new container
Will care for them as they harden and die
Hold them in those last moments
And witness as they soften into the earth
As they make way for new birth
New buds new leaves new growth
New life
Using the nutrients they have provided
The little gifts they've left behind
As gratitude to the earth
for holding it all
Can we do that
Can we allow the parts
Of us
That are clinging clinging clinging
So tight
Afraid of death
Because there is a death that awaits
A death that is part of that same life cycle of leaves falling to the ground
A death that is an end
And also a beginning
As it decomposes
Into the raw goods
The rawest form of life
The new part can use to grow and flourish
To bloom
What if it wasn't actually so scary?
What if it just is?
Or what if it is scary
And we watch that fear
We watch that clinging
The clenching
The holding on for dear life
And we noticed it
And we looked
And wondered
When nature will take its course
And the wind will carry it away
Hmmm
I wonder
I wonder
I do wonder
About the leaves.
Thanks for being here ππ¦
Love this βgratitude to earth for holding it all.β πππ§‘
Itβs the first time I noticed the voice over, and I love it! Helps to hear the poem speak its truth out loud. Thank you for sharing π
